VOICETHREAD

In the era we are in now, technology is not only taking a role in society but in education. When technology is used in the education field it is used as an supporting tool, to engage students and enhance lessons and objectives. Working in special education classroom and ICT classrooms a great informative tool is VoiceThread. VoiceThread is a wed program that can be used in any classroom, it would however work best for grades k-12th and in small groups, special education classed and 1:1. When using VoiceThread students or teachers can use images to present information and have it provided with audio or text for a better knowledge to students who need it most. During the process of using the VoiceThread the teacher and student can both benefit from it because each student can work on their own pace, play the audio if they tend to forget and be able to express further ideas to teachers. Teachers can benefit because they are able to monitor students work, comments and activity. Overall I like this program because it’s a way to keep a portfolio on students and engaging. I will consider using this in my small groups and lesson plans.

Week 6 -2-1

After reading both articles, they both come to the same important point of technology in the classroom. One article focused on understanding of ICT’s by teachers and the other was social media in the classroom. In order for both to occur in the classroom we have to make the students feel comfortable when using technology so that way the transition is smooth and students can adapt to become familiar. In most cases if teachers are not familiar with technology they tend to shy away from it and teach using textbooks or lecture.
