Analyzing Glogster

             Prior to creating a Glogster account, I thought it was not going to be a tool for other subject only ELA. However once I went into it I was amazed at all the subject. Teachers are able to add students to “glog” and students are able to use it afterwards to create their presentations. Along with many other site this can be use to create book, digital story telling, book reports, group project, presentation, writing assignment and reading assignments. While creating all these wonderful assignments students can edit it by adding text, audio and graphics to give it a cool effect. What I love about glogster that remind me of a program we have at mt school now called Seesaw. You are able to upload the work and share it to your teachers, friends and family members.
            Glogster is great because it encourages students to create their own project with no limitations. They are able to be as creative as they want. When my students created books on book builder they were so eager to write because the presentation and assignment was engaging. It is also great because parents can access it and see the work their child is doing. In addition it’s a form of a portfolio for students.

            Glogster is also great because it can be used outside of school , so teachers can give assignments on them or students can finish up incomplete presentation at home. Students are also able to become further tech savvy and learn a new application to apply knowledge to.

Week 3- Assignment 2

•   Which ideas from the video reflect what the ELA teachers you interviewed are currently doing to integrate technology with their literacy instruction? Based on the video the ELA teacher is using a productivity tool in her classroom. She is using the smart bored, ipad, and software apps, to engage her students. •   How can you help change their instructional practices to include the use of technology and the Internet in their literacy and content-area curriculum? I can help by introducing ICT tools ( components of new literacies) and having students use cognitive skills / tools in the classroom. •   What professional development and/or resources will they need in order to make these changes? Week 6 -2-1

After reading both articles, they both come to the same important point of technology in the classroom. One article focused on understanding of ICT’s by teachers and the other was social media in the classroom. In order for both to occur in the classroom we have to make the students feel comfortable when using technology so that way the transition is smooth and students can adapt to become familiar. In most cases if teachers are not familiar with technology they tend to shy away from it and teach using textbooks or lecture. In the country we live in this isn’t fair or possible anymore because we are in an advance world of technology.
